The waft

Most days it creeps in through the house like a shimmering sea fog . The mank first, then a pungent tang dissipates into that sickly sweet after stench of dope . It’s an everyday smell that has to be accepted , cause it’s legal . Tex instantly recognises the smell . He’s just turned 13 and he knows what weed smells like . That’s going to be the main issue , the education required for the kids . Upstairs our neighbours work in the industry , often the waft will blow in from their balcony , coating our place in that special incense . Marcus across the road too , and I think another neighbor down the alley also burns the green timber .
