Nothing was ever real until the tickets were booked . January 26 , 2023 , 4 seats on Qantas to Sydney , one way , connecting onto Melbourne .. Wow .. let that exhale slowly . Hows the irony ? What a day to finally leave your life behind and return home to Australia .
The jitters , butterflies, jingles , nerves , whatever . They’re starting to build . We were always coming back . We were coming back after 2 years , then 3 ,4 and now close to 6 years have passed and we are doing it . Their are doubts . We’ve taken a leap of faith . We’ll come back with just our suitcases , a couple of surfboards and nothing else . No jobs , no detailed plan ,only a gut feel that we are making a decision that will eventually work out .
So there it is pups . It hasn’t been an easy call ,but what is easy is that we know there’s a better life back home . We have 14 days left in the United States . It’s been one hell of a ride but it’s time to come back to heal , to rejuvenate and to enjoy the best country in the world . We’ll land January 28 . See you soon .
