Ok air freight arrived . Boards here . After 13 days straight of surf it’s predicted to drop dramatically today . Of course ! Doesn’t matter it looks good for the week so I might have to hold off on all my volunteer stuff  around the school . Scouts (stick that up your arse) might have to wait as well

1st of all EJ meets up with Aussie we met in chance encounter . She gets the low down . (There well entrenched) . As is am mr mum I gotta get social with the school crew and volunteer for everything to get school security in case we move out of area (it’s all zoned into a narrow long run all within about 5 miles  ,Hermosa being highly sought after ) .Now shit ! Please do I really have to cause I’m such a social  butterfly and am really big on my do good skills . Ah but I have to say the clas rep has organised a get together in our honour tomorrow at the park .Do you think it would be appropriate if I took a 6 pack and loosen right up .Now that might work. Also scouts are real big .so I’ve been told I might have to go camping and knot making and toastn marsh mellows and getting in touch with the brotherhood . Looks like the kids might not go to Hermosa next year 

Just when I thought I was getting on top of the driving I got my 1st wake up call .I hit the supermarket for some time kill .On exiting the car park while humming to the radio I look up to see 4 cars closing in fast.Head on ! Fark! I quickly jag right in to the way of approaching pedestrians ,don’t give way and bolt .All flustered ithen miss my 2 next turns and have thus missed any chance of a gold park. Plus the water bottle (no star bucks tea sipper cup just yet ) between my legs has splattered over my shorts . Now I’ve gotta walk in and get Leroy looking like I’ve pissed myself ! now i’l never get in with the cool crowd .

The boss (EJ) got home from NewYork and bang military order returns . I’ve been saving a bit of mess and washing for the day but nup we’re on top of that . So I went for a walk south along the coast (north is the Santa Monica Malibu direction) and headed to redondo foreshore . A pretty cool area . A big marina to pass 1st and then the redondo pier area . This place Is covered with little seafood restaurants ,fishmongers ,bars , cafes and the like (no photos as it doesn’t do it justice ) ,a place that is colossal every weekend . Then down through a farmers market and on to the beach . Hope the photos just posted give you an idea . Oh and it’s a perfect 25 degrees

Gee I might of been a bit tough this morning . I suppose I’ve gotta start looking at it more positively . Yeah we do live in a good looking community . School drop off can’t be that bad . Lots to look at . Surely I can get tennis lessons ,play comp with my new mum mates . I can get my Starbucks cup with lid and straw cause that’s mandatory . Yeah things could be worse . Won’t have to do core work  cause I do that each morning and arvo when I hold my breath and suck everything in . Soon i’l get to take my sunglasses off when my stye goes down . Shit it might be sunny side up pretty soon .

We live in a little enclave here just tucked in away from the real world. Unusually Anglo ,a touch of Hispanic and Asian but mainly blonde and blue eyes .Weve got parents driving these hybrid golf buggies around dropping kids off to school . It’s a body conscious ‘best that you can be’ all’s sunny side up kind of a feel .It is a good looking fit little place .Now I do like that but I have woken up at 4am and have to scratch that itch . I just wanna see some parent who’s fat or unshaven(not designer stubble ) drives an old Buick , a tradie  someone who’s not in his chinos or her perfect gym wear . Someone not chipper . Life surely isn’t this homogenised here . Shit maybe it’s just me with too much time to brood  . Oh well I’ll just put the tv on and see who shot who and then I l know I’ts better to be happy with my lot 

Now I know stmacs in Mornington is no fun school pickup and drop off but your just in the junior league back there . Tex and Leroy school 500 meters apart. Leroys school has no direct route . Therefore you are tested on the local road rules with multiple turns,stops and sometimes uturns all the while driving left sided on what feels the wrong side of the road . I got here at 155 knowing 40 mins should get me a park at school . No deal all taken . Back to the side streets. But wait it gets worse because I then have to wind my way back to get to tex once Leroy is collected . 4 major intersections 2 that I have to cross without lights.(Fuckn nightmare). They’ve got an idea where when hitting a 4 way cross intersection that diplomacy takes place and that everyone yields to the person that got there 1st and in the many instance that you get there instantaneously the right takes precedence. Wholey shit what about a fuckn roundabout ? Result.  A fuckn mess at school time . By the time I’ve got through those 2 little beauties I’m cooked b4 i go into battle to get a park at Texs school . Then I’ve still gotta get home . This area is a real rabbit warren . Shit I need a beer just writing this !

Put tv on and there it is . The live police pursuit. This is bizarre .Another LA normal and something we would occasionally see a quick clip on the news back home . It’s full on this guy is charging through traffic and red lights with a patrol car and chopper right on his tail. We  are even getting the live police media response .Holy shit they cornered him and have pumped a heap of shots and blown out the windows !10 cops guns drawn . Yep pulled a body out and now delivering cpr . Good morning ya all I’m wide awake and ready for the day now no shit coffee required and the kids aren’t up . Perfect 

All quiet for the first time .Both kids at school. EJ in NewYork me just sitting here after the morning choirs . Weird ,it’s a nervy flighty feel a small calm that I can’t relax in . There’s still a lot of decisions and actions to make . Like a 2nd car (not fun I just drive them but I don’t like them ) a permanent dwelling , kids sport ,swimming lessons and heaps of other essentials . But fuck it lets talk about consumerism because California must be king . Every chemist supermarket , corner store , even joints like Target will sell milk , bread general groceries needs . They often have coffee and salad bars . Whole foods (upmarket food supermarket ) even has a bar for christs sake .  And then there’s the alcohol that everyone of theses places sell ! And insane choice at dangerously cheap prices . Even the little guys sell it cheap. I’m trying to stay strong but gee I’m getting twitches thinking about it . I will try and get a photo and or at least tell you some prices soon . Adios amigos
